Sleek, ripe and focused at first, with a racy beam of black currant and blackberry fruit that drives through, carried by a graphite edge and flanked by sweet bay leaf, tapenade and pepper accents. The long finish has a great tug of dark earth, adding terrific contrast to the fruit. A very serious wine. Best from 2023 through 2038. 500 cases made, 56 cases imported.

Sexy aromas of ripe black raspberry, cherry preserves and exotic spices, plus bright mineral and floral overtones that gain strength in the glass. Velvety, pliant and finely textured, offering palate-staining black/blue fruit, spicecake and violet pastille flavors braced by an undercurrent of zesty minerality. Very nicely balanced and polished in character, finishing extremely long, with harmonious tannins, sharp detail and resonating floral and mineral character. 20% new barriques. 93-95
